New Delhi, September 19 (ANI): India-Canada relations are on the brink of collapse as the Canadian Government expelled top Indian diplomat. In the Canadian Parliament, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accuses India of being behind killing of Khalistani leader. Both countries witnessing significant worsening of bilateral ties at a time when India is demanding action against Khalistani. “Over the past number of weeks, Canadian security agencies have been actively pursuing credible allegations of a potential link between agents of the Government of India in the killing of the Canadian citizen Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Any involvement of a foreign government in the killing of a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil is an unacceptable violation of our sovereignty,” said Justin Trudeau. Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly also said that allegations proven true would be a “grave violation of Canada’s sovereignty”. India has outrightly rejected the Canadian government’s claim and said that the “allegations are absurd and motivated” However, the prominent Canadian journalist questioned Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s allegations. Notably, Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar was shot dead outside a Gurudwara in Canada’s Surrey in June 2023. He was one of India’s most-wanted terrorists carrying a cash bounty of Rs 10 lakh on his head.
