Sultan of Oman and Indian PM hold official talks

New Delhi [India], December 17: Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of the Sultanate of Oman and Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi held an expanded session of official talks at Hyderabad House in New Delhi on Saturday.
The session focused on topics that strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop them in various fields, in addition to discussing regional and international developments and issues of common concern.
Within the framework of the state visit of the Sultan of Oman to India, the two countries signed an agreement and a number of memorandums of understanding in the fields of work, culture, communications, information technology and the exchange of financial information.
The Oman Investment Authority (OIA) expanded its cooperation with the State Bank of India by launching the third Omani-Indian Joint Fund.
It comes as a continuation of the successes of the first and second joint funds, which achieved good returns from their successful investments in a number of sectors, with the size of the third fund reaching US$300mn.OIA's contribution in the fund amounts to US$50mn.
