Hanoi [Vietnam], September 19: Following the widely discussed news that Vietnam might not be allowed to participate in Miss Universe 2026, the Miss Universe Vietnam 2026 organizing committee stated that they remain focused on finding a new queen, and that issues at the international level are outside their scope of decision-making.
The Miss Universe Vietnam 2026 competition is still ongoing.
On the evening of September 18th, the official fanpage of Miss Universe Vietnam posted an announcement from Mr. Pham Duy Khanh - Head of the Organizing Committee of Miss Universe Vietnam 2026 - regarding information that Vietnam does not meet the requirements to send a representative to compete in Miss Universe 2026 .
In this context, the organizers of Miss Universe Vietnam 2026 stated that their primary mission is to organize a professional beauty pageant, creating an environment for contestants to showcase, train, and develop, while simultaneously finding a new queen who aligns with their values.
"Issues related to the authority, agreements, or relationships between organizations and entities at the international level fall within the purview of the parties involved and are outside the decision-making scope of the Miss Universe 2026 organizing committee," the announcement emphasized. They also stated that they respect the exchange and handling process between the parties involved. The Miss Universe Vietnam 2026 organizing committee also affirmed that these issues do not alter the goals and direction of the competition in Vietnam.
The Miss Universe Vietnam 2026 organizing committee stated that in the coming period, they will continue to implement the competition as planned, focusing on professional quality, training, and the contestants' experience. They also indicated that post-coronation activities will be implemented according to plan and actual conditions at each point in time, based on the direction and values ​​of Miss Universe Vietnam.
