PRC calls the priorities of the monetary policy in 2023

Beijing [China], January 14: This year the top priority for the Chinese government will be economic recovery. According to GuoShuqing, chairman of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, monetary policy will be prudent, targeted and effective. He said expanding domestic demand and deepening supply-side reforms are key objectives.
"Fiscal policy must be conducted in conjunction with fiscal and social policies to increase the incomes of those who need material support and those hardest hit by the pandemic. We will encourage major purchases such as flats or cars, and increase financial support for education, culture, sports and services," said GuoShuqing.
Other important objectives include financial support for infrastructure development and rural regeneration projects, as well as private entrepreneurship.
The plan is to increase overall lending and reduce financing costs, increase insurance coverage for private companies engaged in the manufacturing and service sectors, and take measures to diversify companies' sources of income by attracting them to the stock markets. In addition, GuoShuqing said a number of measures would be aimed at increasing foreign investment.
"China will make it easier for foreign investors to enter the Chinese market, expand the range of industries and assets available to them, and continue to promote investment growth," the chairman of the Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission said, as reported by CGTN, partner of TV BRICS.
