PRC appoints new foreign minister

Beijing [China], January 1: Former Chinese Ambassador to the U.S. has been appointed the new head of the Chinese foreign ministry. China Central Television reported that the decision was made at a meeting of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.
It is specified that Wang Yi, who has held the post since 2013, is retiring. Qin Gang, as ambassador to the United States, has advocated the search for peaceful solutions to difficult issues, the establishment of dialogue between countries with different political platforms, and the expansion of cooperation between Russia and China, as reported by CCTV, a partner of TV BRICS.
