Porto clinch Portuguese league title with win over Alverca

Lisbon [Portugal], May 3: Porto defeated Alverca 1-0 on Saturday evening in the 32nd round of the Portuguese football league, securing the league title.
With this result, Porto raised their tally to 85 points at the top of the standings, nine points ahead of second-placed Benfica, who drew with Famalicao earlier on Saturday, with two rounds remaining in the season.
Alverca remained on 38 points in ninth place.
