Iraqi Parliament elects Nizar Amedi as President

Baghdad [Iraq], April 12: The Iraqi Council of Representatives today elected Nizar Amedi as the new President of Iraq.
Amedi secured the post after winning a majority of votes during a parliamentary session convened for the presidential election.
