FBI Reinvestigates White House Cocaine Find, Leaked Court Documents
May 27, 2025

Washington [US], May 27: The FBI is re-investigating the discovery of cocaine at the White House and the leak of a draft Supreme Court opinion on abortion rights.
An FBI official said the agency will conduct new investigations into the discovery of cocaine at the White House in 2023 under former President Joe Biden and the leak of a draft Supreme Court opinion on abortion rights.
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino made the announcement on social media X, saying he had ordered weekly reports on the progress of the two investigations. Both cases have become a topic of widespread discussion among the right-wing in the US, according to Reuters on May 27.
The discovery of a small bag containing cocaine in a hidden spot near the entrance to the West Wing at the White House two years ago drew heated comments from Republicans, including then-presidential candidate Donald Trump.
At that time, Mr. Trump said that there was no way that the drugs belonged to anyone other than Mr. Biden and his son Hunter, even though at that time Mr. Biden's family was not in Washington DC.
A White House spokesman said at the time that the allegations were "deeply irresponsible." A spokesman for Mr. Biden on May 26 declined to comment on the new investigation.
In connection with the second investigation, on May 2, 2022, the leak of a draft Supreme Court opinion removing the right to abortion from the Constitution led to criticism from Mr. Trump, who criticized the source of the leak and demanded that the journalists involved be jailed until they revealed the identity of their sources.
Previous investigations into both incidents, conducted by the Secret Service and the Supreme Court, ended without determining who was responsible for the cocaine or the leak.
The Supreme Court and Secret Service did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment on May 26.
