Havana [Cuba], September 19: Cuba's electricity grid suffered a total collapse on Friday, cutting power across the island of about 9.4 million people, the country's Energy Ministry said.
Cuba's ageing power generation system has come under severe strain from fuel shortages and deteriorating infrastructure, while recurring outages leave millions without electricity even when the national grid is operating.
