At least 8 people died in the US due to Hurricane Beryl

Carricou [Grenada], July 11: AFP news agency reported yesterday that Hurricane Beryl swept across the United States, killing at least 7 people in Texas and 1 person in Louisiana. The storm hit Texas on the morning of July 8 local time. About 2 million households in the state lost power on the evening of July 9 due to a broken power grid.
The US National Hurricane Center (NHC) said Hurricane Beryl weakened on July 9 and moved northeast across the US Midwest with winds of 45 km/h, while warning that the storm could still cause flooding and tornadoes.
Axios reported that the power outage left millions of households without air conditioning, raising concerns about the widespread heat in the region. US President Joe Biden on July 9 declared a state of emergency in Texas, saying he would send generators to the state to address the needs of the people.
