UNP leader visits party supporters attacked by gang

Colombo (Sri Lanka) Aug 5: The leader of the United National Party (UNP) Ranil Wickremesinghe visited the Colombo National Hospital to inquire into the well-being of the party supporters who were attacked by an unidentified gang and injured.
The spouse and a supporter of a United National Party candidate were injured and hospitalized when they were attacked by a gang Sunday night, party sources said.
It has been reported that the two individuals were injured when the office of UNP candidate Titus Perera in Kirulapone was attacked by an unidentified group Sunday night.
UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe visited Perera's wife and supporter in hospital yesterday.
