Cuba reports record number of daily COVID-19 cases

Havana (Cuba), January 10: Cuba reported 365 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, the highest daily number since the disease first appeared in the country in March, according to the Ministry of Public Health.
So far, Cuba has registered 14,188 cases of COVID-19, with 148 deaths.
The national director of hygiene and epidemiology at the ministry, Francisco Duran, explained that 90 of the new cases are linked to imported cases.
The official said during a television interview that "indiscipline is causing this situation," and the large number of imported cases showed the violation of health protocols established for returning travelers.
The Cuban government has announced that as of Jan. 10, all travelers wishing to enter the country will be required to have proof of a PCR test performed by a certified laboratory carried out no more than 72 hours before their flight.
